After graduating from the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, Roberto enrolled at UMass-Boston. He worked part-time to pay his bills during college, but ultimately it did not suffice. An unpaid tuition bill forced him to leave college during his sophomore year. He enrolled in Year Up, a one-year post-secondary program that prepares students for the business world through classes and internships at some of Greater Boston’s top companies. He also continued to work as a su¬permarket cashier supervisor, to provide for himself and his young family. Roberto graduated from the Year Up program and applied for an Alray scholarship in order to return to college and pursue a Bach¬elor’s degree from the New England College of Business.
