Mimi was accepted and began her college studies at Bard College at Simon’s Rock after completing her sophomore year in high school. She thrived in college and attained a 3.05 GPA in her freshman year. “That experience gave me the chance to challenge myself academically,” she says. But early in her second year she was forced to leave school to help her family when a sister suffered a serious illness. She resumed her studies at Northeastern to work on a degree in public policy. Her original goal was to become a pediatrician but she is also considering becoming a college professor. She spent the summer in California, having earned a teaching assistant in chemistry internship from Johns Hopkins, an example of the planning she is putting into attaining her education goals.
